Ninth Art is constantly on the lookout for gifted writers with something fresh to say. If you would like to become a contributor, please mail us at submissions@ninthart.com, including a sample of your writing and an outline pitch of an article you would like to write for us. If we like your ideas and your writing, we'll ask you for a first draft submission. Please note that it may take us a while to respond.

Your writing sample can be an academic piece, work published for an amateur or professional publication, or even an unpublished piece, so long as you believe it to be representative of your writing ability. Your writing sample does not have to be related to comics.

Outline pitches should be short summaries of the article or articles you would like to write for us. These should take the form of a working title and roughly two hundred words describing what you would like to explore in the piece and what its aim would be.

If you are pitching to write reviews, your writing sample should also be a review. Your pitch should describe the approach you would like to take to up to three books you're interested in reviewing. Please note that Ninth Art generally only reviews complete works, preferably contained in one binding, that are currently in print and available from most comics retailers.

Please send your writing sample and outline pitch in the body of a plain text e-mail. If you wish to send it in another format, please check with the editor first.
